Frédéric Chaudière’s workshop is located in Montpellier’s charming Hôtel Magnol. Built in 1640, this private mansion was originally the home of botanist Pierre Magnol (1638 – 1715), whose name was given to the Magnolia tulip tree brought back from China. Pierre Magnol, doctor to the royal court and director of Montpellier’s botanical garden, was the first to classify plants by family.
