The workshop of Frédéric Chaudière, opened in 1986, is located in the Hotel Magnol. There, he builds violins, violas and cellos for famous musicians from all over the world.

Expert in antique instruments and bows, he writes articles for The Strad magazine and Radio France programs. His novel "A Strad out of the blue : the incredible journey of the Gibson stradivari", published by Actes-Sud, is translated in several languages.

He also was the curator of the Stradivarius-Montpellier exhibition of the Fabre Museum in 2008. And the organiser of the Stradivari orchestra wich gathered 20 instruments for the opening concert of the Radio France festival, with Augustin Dumay.

Frédéric is also a painter and a sculptor.

His "Indigènes" of clay and wood are the setting of "Figurations", a show that he created for the National Opera of Montpellier and that was performed at Covent Garden Rotal Opera House, London in 2015

His "Greffes" are an atempt to bond raw pieces of wood with violin parts.

The series of portraits "Cordes" presents figures of his universe, in oil on canvas.
